Andrew Jones


Tax attorney Andrew L. Jones serves in an of counsel capacity to Manela and Associates. He holds a J.D. and L.L.M. in Taxation, with honors, from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.


While a student, Andrew served as 2007 summer intern in the Washington, D.C. chambers of United States Tax Court Judge Mark V. Holmes, and in 2009, externed with the IRS’ Office of Chief Counsel in Los Angeles, in the Small Business-Self Employed (SBSE) division. 


Mr. Jones’s practice includes complex international tax matters, including cross-border trade, investment, and employment, and US tax compliance for foreign individuals and entities, including Foreign Bank Account Report (FBARs) and the 2012 Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP); non-profit and exempt organizations, with representation for both gaining and maintaining exemption, and restructuring and advanced tax planning for this entity type; and, tax controversies, including representing taxpayers in IRS audits, IRS Appeals, and the United States Tax Court, along with a broad variety of California tax defense matters before the Board of Equalization, Franchise Tax Board, and Employment Development Department.
